What is the Answer?

Picture
I believe that every human being deep in their hearts knows the answer to this question.  Most of the time, we tune it off because it does challenge  us to change our way of living. This might be very inconvenient for our life style.

My brothers and sisters the "desire for God is written on our hearts." This is how God created us. We would like to deny this, but as St. Augustine said, "O God, you have made us for yourself and our hearts are restless until they rest in you." In addition, J.B Philips described man as a worshipping animal. If, for some reason he has no God, he will worship something. Common modern substitutes are the following: The state, success, efficiency, money, power, glamor, even security, Nobody of course, calls them God, but they have the influence and command the devotion which should belong to the real God. it is only when a man finds God that he is able to see how his worshiping instinct has been distored and misdirected.  So, my brothers and sisters if you want peace in your soul, then seek God first among all things seek Him first and Seek His Kingdom.  The beautiful thing is that when you seek God first, He will provide for all of your needs. We spend so much time worrying about our financial problems, relationships, health, etc, but the answer to all of these problems is God. He said that if we seek Him first he will provide for us. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but His words will not pass away”(Matthew 24:35)

Jesus said to Sister Josepfa Menendez, "Help Me," He would say, "help Me to make My love for men known, for I come to tell them that in vain will they seek happiness apart from Me, for they will not find it.

How can we seek the Kingdom of God?
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Matthew 22:37-39

These are the two greatest commandments that we must follow in order for us to inherit the kingdom of God. The Catechism says, “God created everything for man, but man in turn was created to serve and love God and to offer all creation back to him: What is it that is about to be created, that enjoys such honor? It is man that great and wonderful living creature, more precious in the eyes of God than all other creatures! For him the heavens and the earth, the sea and all the rest of creation exist. God attached so much importance to his salvation that He did not spare His own Son for the sake of man. Nor does He ever cease to work, trying every possible means, until He has raised man up to Himself and made him sit at his right hand.” (Catechism 358).

Our Father "desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." He "is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish." His commandment is "that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another." This commandment summarizes all the others and expresses his entire will. (Catechism 2822).  This is the will for you and me, my brothers and sisters, to love God and to love our neighbor for the glory of Our Creator Our Lord Jesus Christ.

What do you have to lose? He is waiting for all of us, all that we have to do is to seek His kingdom.

What is His kingdom?  Souls, yours and those of your brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world.  Whether they are close or far from Jesus, He came to seek the lost sheep.

Are we going to follow Jesus and do the same thing.  We should and all other things will be given to us besides especially our eternal salvation. “Whoever brings back a sinner will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” (James 5:20).

The way to follow Jesus is to offer prayers and sacrifices for those who need them so that they may be saved by the grace of God.

As Our Lady, the Virgin Mary told the Fatima children, “Pray, Pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners; for many souls go to hell, because there are none to sacrifice themselves and to pray for them.”(July 13, 1917)

God needs our prayers and sacrifices to save others.  He thirsts for them.  Our Lord Jesus told Saint Faustina, “I thirst. I thirst for the salvation of souls. Help me, my daughter, to save souls.” (Diary of St. Faustina:1032)

He stayed up all night praying for us, we should follow his example and pray and sacrifice for others as well.  The sacrifices may be little but joined to the sacrifices of Jesus on the Cross they become very fruitful.

St. Therese said, “Love proves itself by deeds, so how am I to show my love? Great deeds are forbidden me. The only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers and these flowers are every little sacrifice, every glance and word, and the doing of the least actions for love.”

"Prayer joined to sacrifice constitutes the most powerful force in human history."
(Blessed Pope John Paul II)

The Answer is to Love God and Love your Neighbor through Prayer and Sacrifice in order to help them save their souls.

Live this and pass this answer on to others and eventually it will get to Jim Carrey and everyone in the world.  Share it on facebook, Spread the word.

God Bless you all my Brothers and Sisters in Christ

You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; (John 15:16)

You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (John 15:16)

God has chosen you! He has Appointed You!

Bring forth fruit that will last forever!
The Fruit is Souls.  We must bring souls to Jesus so that they will last with us in heaven forever.

How can we do that?
We must offer prayers and sacrifices for the salvation of souls especially our paralytics everyday.  It is so simple so do not let yourself be deceived.  It is only through prayer and sacrifice can we save souls and save our own.  A sacrifice can be to speak the truth to those who may not want to hear you.  A sacrifice may be to accept that you may not even see the fruits of your prayers in an individual.  So be it, you will see them in heaven because through our prayers and sacrifices it is believed that Jesus will give them the grace of their conversion.  It is impossible for God to not hear our prayers and sacrifices for the conversion of sinners as this is what he wants the most.  He wants souls.  He thirsts for them.  He died for them.  He poured out all His Blood on the Cross for them.

Our Lord Jesus told Saint Faustina, “I thirst. I thirst for the salvation of souls. Help me, my daughter, to save souls.” (Diary of St. Faustina:1032)

“The prayer most pleasing to Me is prayer for the conversion of sinners. Know my daughter, that this prayer is always heard and answered.”(Diary of Saint Faustina: 1397)

He is Truth Itself, He can neither deceive nor be deceived,  Heaven and Earth will pass away but His words will not pass away.

Keep praying and making sacrifices and share in the Masters Joy.

In Christ,

For Many are Called, but Few are Chosen. ((Matthew 22:14)

Why are few chosen?  It is our decision that keeps us from being chosen.  Chosen for what.  Chosen for Heaven that begins here and continues into heaven.  How can we be among the chosen?  We must offer prayer and sacrifice for ourselves and for our neighbors.  The Four Men will help you to become among the chosen.  It is a way of learning to love prayer and sacrifice.  It is a way of becoming one with the mission of Jesus which was to save souls.  We bring souls to Jesus so that he can save them.  Do we save souls?  We help them to be saved through our prayers and sacrifices.   We help them get Grace from God to open their eyes.  To be saved as the paralytic was.

Colossians 1:24   Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church.

We do our part to fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ in our flesh.  We sacrifice with Jesus to fill the Body of Christ with souls.

1 Peter 4:13   But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Your sacrifices allow you to partake in the sufferings of Christ to help save souls and also to rejoice with exceeding joy.

2 Corinthians 1:7
That our hope for you may be steadfast: knowing that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation.

One of the greatest consolations on this earth is to see someone who you have been praying and sacrificing converted and brought to the same joy you experience.  That has to be the greatest joy on earth.  And as Father Ignatius Okoroji said, if you help save a soul you get a drivers license to heaven.  This is confirmed especially by James 5:20.

Philippians 3:10
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death,

We become true images of God though conforming to Jesus' sufferings and death.  Sacrifice is dying to self.  And rising to Jesus.

2 Corinthians 1:6
Now whether we be in tribulation, it is for your exhortation and salvation: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation: or whether we be exhorted, it is for your exhortation and salvation, which worketh the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

We become one with Christ in the Cross.

Romans 8:18
For I reckon that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with the glory to come, that shall be revealed in us.

Wow!

2 Corinthians 1:5
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound.

Love and sacrifice brings you the peace that surpasses all understanding.  You turn all bad news into Good News through your voluntary sacrifice endured.  Offer it up to Jesus as a sacrifice for your paralytics.

For the Love of Jesus, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Fasting from TV: Blessed Pope John Paul II

One of the meanings of penitential fasting is to help us recover an interior life. The effort of moderation in food also extends to other things that are not necessary, and this is a great help to the spiritual life. Moderation, recollection and prayer go hand in hand. . . . This principle can be appropriately applied to the mass media. Their usefulness is indisputable, but they must not become the “masters” of our life. In how many families does television seem to replace personal conversation rather than to facilitate it! A certain “fasting” also in this area can be healthy, both for devoting more time to reflection and prayer, and for fostering human relations.
(Blessed Pope John Paul II)

My brothers sacrifices will save souls and your own, consider fasting from TV, internet, and spend more time in prayer with your family and with God.

The Most Powerful Force in Human History

Prayer joined to sacrifice constitues the most powerful force in human history.  (Blessed Pope John Paul II)

If you really wish to follow Christ, if you want your love for him to grow and last, then you must be faithful to prayer.  It is the key to vitality of your life in Christ.  Without prayer, your faith and love will die.  If you are constant in daily prayer and in the Sunday celebration of Mass, your love for Jesus will increase.  And your heart will know deep joy and peace, such as the world could never give. (Blessed Pope John Paul II)

How will human history record your story.  I am sure it will be great if you offer prayer and sacrifices for your brothers and sisters in need.

Keep up the great work,

Sister Josefa Menendez' Description of Hell: Excerpted from Way of Divine Love

11/3/2011

Picture
Sister Josefa wrote with great reticence on this subject. She did it only to conform to Our Blessed Lord's wishes, Our Lady having told her on October 25, 1922: "Everything that Jesus allows you to see and to suffer of the torments of Hell, is... that you may make it known to your Mothers. So forget yourself entirely, and think only of the glory of the Heart of Jesus and the salvation of souls."

...She repeatedly dwelt on the greatest torment of Hell, namely, the soul' inability to love.

One of these damned souls cried out: "This is my torture... that I want to love and cannot; there is nothing left me but hatred and despair. If one of us could so much as make a single act of love... this would no longer be hell... But we cannot, we live on hatred and malevolence... " (March 23, 1922).

Another of these unfortunates said: "The greatest of our torments here is that we are not able to love Him whom we are bound to hate. Oh! How we hunger for love, we are consumed with desire of it, but it is too late... You too will feel this same devouring hunger, but you will only be able to hate, to abhor, and to long for the loss of souls... nothing else do we care for now!" (March 26, 1922).

The following passage was written by obedience, through it was extremely repugnant to Josefa's humility:

"Every day now, when I am dragged down to Hell and the devil orders them to torture me, they answer: 'We cannot, for her members have undergone torture for Him...' (then they blasphemously name Our Blessed Lord)... then he orders them to give me a draught of sulfur... and again the reply is: 'She has voluntarily deprived herself of drink...' Try to find some part of her body to which she has given satisfaction and pleasure.'

"I have also noted that when they shackle me to take me down to Hell, they never can bind me where I have worn instruments of penance. I write all this simply out of obedience." (April 1, 1922).

She records, too, the accusations made against themselves by these unhappy souls: "Some yell because of the martyrdom of their hands. Perhaps they were thieves, for they say: 'Where is our loot now?... Cursed hands... Why did I want to possess what did not belong to me.. and what in any case I could keep only for a few days...?'

"Others curse their tongues, their eyes... whatever was the occasion of their sin... 'Now, O body, you are paying the price of the delights you granted yourself!.. and you did it of your own free will... '" (April 2, 1922). (That is, illegitimate delights).

"It seemed to me that the majority accused themselves of sins of impurity, of stealing, of unjust trading; and that most of the damned are in Hell for these sins." (April 6, 1922).

"I saw many worldly people fall into Hell, and no words can render their horrible and terrifying cries: 'Damned forever... I deceived myself; I am lost... I am here forever... There is no remedy possible... a curse on me...'

"Some accused people, others circumstances, and all execrated the occasions of their damnation." (September 1922).

"Today, I saw a vast number of people fall into the fiery pit... they seemed to be worldlings, and a demon cried vociferously: 'The world is ripe for me... I know that the best way to get hold of souls is to rouse their desire for enjoyment... Put me first... me before the rest... no humility for me! but let me enjoy myself... This sort of thing assures victory to me... and they tumble headlong into Hell.'" (October 4, 1922).

"I heard a demon, from whom a soul had escaped, forced to confess his powerlessness. 'Confound it all... how do so many manage to escape me? They were mine' (and he rattled off their sins)... 'I work hard enough, yet they slip through my fingers... Someone must be suffering and repairing for them.'" (January 15, 1923). ("Repairing," that is, "making reparation" for them).

Exercising Patience : Extract from The Passion and Death of Jesus Christ by St. Alphonsus Liguori

10/27/2011

THE PATIENCE THAT WE MUST EXERCISE IN COMPANY WITH JESUS CHRIST, IN ORDER TO OBTAIN ETERNAL SALVATION.

It is Necessary to suffer, and to suffer with Patience.

To speak of patience and suffering is a thing neither practiced nor understood by those who love the world. It is understood and practiced only by souls who love
the God. " O Lord," said St. John of the Cross to Jesus Christ, "I ask nothing of Thee but to suffer and to be despised for Thy sake." St. Teresa frequently exclaimed, " O my Jesus, I would either suffer or die." St. Mary Magdalene of Pazzi was wont to say, "I would suffer and not die." Thus speak the saints who love God, because a soul can give no surer mark to God of love for him than voluntarily to suffer to please him. This is the great proof which Jesus Christ has given of his love to us. As God he loved us in creating us, in providing us so many blessings, in calling us to enjoy the same glory that he himself enjoys; but in nothing else has he more fully shown how much he loves us than in becoming man, and embracing a painful life, and a death full of pangs and ignominies, for love of us. And how shall we show our love for Jesus Christ ? By leading a life full of pleasures and earthly delights ?

Let us not think that God delights in our pains; the Lord is not of so cruel a nature as to be delighted to see us, his creatures, groan and suffer. He is a God of infinite goodness, who desires to see us fully content and happy, so that he is full of sweetness, affability, and compassion to all who come to him. But our unhappy condition, as sinners, and the gratitude we owe to the love of Jesus Christ, require that, for his love, we should renounce the delights of this earth, and embrace with affection the cross which he gives us to carry during this life, after him who goes before, bearing a cross far heavier than ours; and all this in order to bring us, after our death, to a blessed life, which will never end. God, then, has no desire to see us suffer, but, being himself infinite justice, he cannot leave our faults unpunished; so that, in order that they may be punished, and yet we may one day attain eternal happiness, he would have us purge away our sins with patience, and thus deserve to be eternally blessed. What can be more beautiful and sweet than this rule of divine Providence, that we see at once justice satisfied, and ourselves saved and happy ?

All our hopes, then, we must derive from the merits of Jesus Christ, and from him we must hope for all aid to live holily, and save ourselves; and we cannot doubt that it is his desire to see us holy: This is the will of God, your sanctification: But true as this is, we must not neglect to do our part to satisfy God for the injuries we have done to him, and to attain with our good works to eternal life. This the Apostle expressed when he said, "I fill up that which is wanting of the Passion of Christ in my flesh." Was the Passion of Christ, then, not complete, not enough alone to save us? It was most complete in its value, and most sufficient to save all men ; nevertheless, in order that the merits of the Passion may be applied to us, says St. Teresa, we must do our part, and suffer with patience the crosses which God sends us, that we may be like our head, Jesus Christ, according to what the Apostle writes to the Romans: Whom He foreknew, them He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren.   Still we must ever remember, as the Angelic Doctor warns us, that all the virtue of our good works, satisfactions, and penances, is communicated to them by the satisfaction of Jesus Christ: The satisfaction of man has its efficacy from the satisfaction of Christ} And thus we reply to the Protestants, who call our penances injurious to the Passion of Jesus Christ, as if it were not sufficient to satisfy for our sins. What we say is, that in order that we may be partakers in the merits of Jesus Christ, it is necessary that we labor to fulfil the divine precepts, even by doing violence to ourselves, in order that we may not yield to the temptations of hell. And this is what our Lord meant when he said, The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent seize upon it.* It is necessary, when occasions occur, that we do violence to ourselves by continence, by the mortification of our senses, that we may not be conquered by our enemies. And when we find ourselves guilty through the sins we have committed, we must do violence to God with our tears, says St. Ambrose, in order to obtain pardon. And then, to console us, the saint adds, " O blessed violence, which is not punished with the wrath of God, but is welcomed and rewarded with mercy !" " The more violent any man is with Christ, the more religious is he accounted by Christ. For we must first rule over ourselves by conquering our passions, that we may one day seize upon heaven, which our Saviour has merited for us. And therefore we must do violence to ourselves by suffering contradictions and persecutions, and by conquering the temptations and passions which, without violence, are never conquered.

God teaches us that, in order not to lose our souls, we must be prepared to suffer the agonies of death, and to die; but, at the same time, he says that for him who is thus prepared he himself will fight, and will destroy his enemies. St. John saw before the throne of God a great multitude of saints clothed in white garments (because into heaven nothing defiled can enter), and he beheld that every one of them bore in his hand a palm, the token of martyrdom. What, then, are all the saints martyrs ? Yes, Lord, all grown-up persons who are saved must either be martyrs in blood or martyrs in patience, in conquering the assaults of hell and the inordinate desires of the flesh. Bodily pleasures send innumerable souls to hell, and, therefore, we must resolve with courage to despise them. Let us be assured that either the soul must tread the body under foot, or the body the soul.
We must, then (I repeat), do ourselves violence in order to be saved. But this violence is such (it will be said by some one) that I cannot do it of myself, if God does not give it me through his grace. To such a one St. Ambrose says, "If you look to yourself, you can do nothing ; but if you trust in God, strength will be given you." But, in doing this, we must suffer, and it is impossible to avoid it; if we would enter into the glory of the Blessed, says the Scripture, we must, through much tribulation, enter into the kingdom of God. 2 Thus St. John, beholding the glory of the saints in heaven, heard a voice saying. These are they who have come out of great tribulation, and have washed their garments, and have made them white in the blood of the Lamb* It is true that they all attained heaven by being washed in the blood of the Lamb, but they all went there after suffering great tribulation.

Be assured, St. Paul wrote to his disciples, that God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able.  God has promised to give us sufficient help to conquer every temptation, if only we ask him. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find. ' He cannot, therefore, fail of his promise. It is a fatal error of the heretics to say that God commands things which it is impossible for us to observe. The Council of Trent says: God does not command impossible things; but when He commands, He bids us do what we can, and seek help for what we cannot do, and He will help us. St. Ephrem writes, " If men do not put upon their beasts a greater burden than they can bear, much less does God lay greater temptations upon men than they can endure." Thomas à Kempis writes, "The cross everywhere awaits thee; it is needful for thee everywhere to preserve patience, if thou wouldst have peace. If thou willingly bearest the cross, it will bear thee to thy desired end." In this world, we all of us go about seeking peace; and would find it without suffering; but this is not possible in our present state; we must suffer; the cross awaits us wherever we turn. How, then, can we find peace in the midst of these crosses? By patience, by embracing the cross, which presents itself to us. St. Teresa says "that he who drags the cross along with ill-will feels its weight, however small it is; but he who willingly embraces it, however great it is, does not feel it."
The same Thomas à Kempis says, "Which of the saints is without a cross? The whole life of Christ was a cross and a martyrdom, and dost thou seek for pleasure Jesus, innocent, holy, and the Son of God, was willing to suffer through his whole life, and shall we go about seeking pleasures and comforts ? To give us an example of patience, he chose a life full of ignominies and pains within and without; and shall we wish to be saved without suffering, or to suffer without patience, which is a double suffering, and without fruit, and with increase of pain? How can we think to be lovers of Jesus Christ, if we will not suffer for love of him who has so much suffered for love of us? How can he glory in being a follower of the Crucified who refuses or receives with ill-will the fruits of the cross, which are sufferings, contempt, poverty, pains, infirmities, and all things that are contrary to our self-love?

Conversion of Nazis; Excerpt of The Shadow of His Wings: The True Story of Fr. Gereon Goldmann OFM.

That was my first meeting with the Franciscan Missionary Sisters, and it was to mean much to me, for these good Sisters sympathized with our poverty and started a wave of assistance; soon autos came, loaded with good food and clothing and other articles.  This great and unexpected help from the “enemy”—for they were all French—this true love which the Sisters showed, was the best possible advertisement for our religion.  I was aware that many of the men who lined up to receive some of these precious gifts were there only for what they could get; but we asked no questions, simply giving to all no matter what their religion or philosophy of life; that, too, won many hearts.

More important than these material gifts was the fact that these Sisters prayed for the conversion of the prisoners.  Day and night they prayed before the Blessed Sacrament for the conversion of the Nazis, not only the Sisters in Midelt, but also those in another convent.  Soon we had a dozen convents in North Africa praying and making sacrifices for our camp.  In the face of such storming of heaven, many men lost all resistance, expelled the unbelief and paganism of the Nazi credo from their hearts, and accepted belief in God; after some months of prodding they came to confession and received their second First Holy Communion.

Another example of the power of prayer and sacrifice leading to the conversion of sinners.  This book is incredible and I recommend it Highly for every possible reason.  I see a movie being made some day but do not wait as the read will help you very much to Seek First the Kingdom of God.

The Shadow of His Wings: True Story of Fr. Gereon Goldmann OFM by Ignatius Press

Here is the astonishing true story of the harrowing experiences of a young German seminarian drafted into Hitler's dreaded SS at the onset of World War II. Without betraying his Christian ideals, against all odds, and in the face of Evil, Gereon Goldmann was able to complete his priestly training, be ordained, and secretly minister to German Catholic soldiers and innocent civilian victims caught up in the horrors of war. How it all came to pass will astound you.

Father Goldmann tells of his own incredible experiences of the trials of war, his many escapes from almost certain death, and the diabolical persecution that he and his fellow Catholic soldiers encountered on account of their faith. What emerges is an extraordinary witness to the workings of Divine Providence and the undying power of love, prayer, faith, and sacrifice. Illustrated

"An incredible and gripping account of survival by Divine Providence alone. This book proves again the insanity of war and the way that God is able to bring good out of evil if one has faith. This book gives you a lot to think about."
—Fr. Benedict Groeschel, CFR, Author, Arise from Darkness

"The Shadow of His Wings is truly an amazing book. From the first line to the last, the reader will be captivated. This book is a must."
—Alice von Hildebrand, Author, By Love Refined

"This book shows the workings of grace in the most difficult of conditions. A fascinating, gripping true story of a clerical life we can hardly imagine."
—Fr. James V. Schall, S.J., Georgetown University
