Peace, Faith, Hope, & Love = Four Friends
The multitude outside adorned the house, making it difficult for anyone to enter the house or even to move about freely. The blind, lame, sick, sinners continued to grow in numbers as were the Pharisees, who were ever present to accuse Jesus of some religious blasphemy or wrongdoing.
But the story is not about the multitude nor of the Pharisees and all other religious groups, but rather on the friendship that one man had. A paralytic since birth, with no hope of ever being healed, heard of this Jesus of Nazarene, who gave sight to the blind, made the lame to walk, cast out evil spirits, and many other miracles too great in number to mention, even in the Bible.
But this paralytic had four friends who were the best of friends. They gathered forces to make one final attempt to help their comrade, in hopes of seeing him finally healed by the Master and Rabbi, Jesus of Nazareth.
Peace spoke to the rest and said, "We must find a solution, and I hear that Jesus has come to town and He is in the Publican's house. We should go there and take our friend to Jesus. The peace that this man possesed in his heart was so great that passage for a solution was a main concern. Only a mind at peace could think of such an occasion to take advantage of this situation, of the presence of Jesus in their town. And thus the conversation continued.
Faith, believing in his heart, agreed with Peace, and said that they should attempt it, because he had seen such miracles, and heard Jesus speak in other times, agreeing that this Jesus could and would heal their friend.
Hope, jumped out of his chair, knowing that such an opportunity was at hand and much opportune, considering all other failures, for which he never did lose hope. But now, with renewed strength of spirit, hope was at his highest of praises for Jesus of Nazareth.
Love, who had tortured his heart in prayer for his friend, confessed that this moment was the right moment to act, and that if Peace, Faith, and Hope were as willing as he, they could make it work because they had the right ingredients for a healing for their friend.
Peace, Faith, Hope, and Love, the paralytics four friends jumped into action and did the impossible. When you have peace of mind, you can think clearly. When you have faith, all things are possible. When you have hope, you can make things happen. And when you have love, love conquers all. And conquer they did, for Jesus, after watching the four men slowly lower their friend from the publican's roof, where they had made a hole to lower the paralytic. Jesus saw their peace of heart, Faith, Hope, and Love, and told the paralytic, rise and walk, your sins are forgiven.
The Four-Men: Peace, Faith, Hope, and Love, thus completed a journey that helped their paralytic friend, a lost soul in despair, to experience healing, and a transformation in his life from that moment on, becoming a witness and a follower of the Most High, all because the Four-Men, his friends, believed and acted on Peace, Faith, Hope, and Love, Love being the greater of all. Amen.
Father God, permit us to conduct ourselves as these four-men did in favor of their beloved friend. Thank you God for such examples. In the name of Jesus, thank you. Amen.
